If you were wondering if you need to invest more time and money into digital marketing, I think this answers it for you.

Be seen online where your customers are looking

How to increase your business exposure online

Step 1 – Be clear on your audience and WHERE THEY LOOK.

Knowing your target market demographics will really help you get clarity on what platforms to use.

Do your customers use the internet to search for your product?

Are they on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Tik Tok, LinkedIn?

Once you know WHERE your audience is looking, you can develop a plan to target them.

If you haven’t got one yet, develop a customer persona.

Step 2 – Make sure you have a website that is mobile friendly and OPTIMISED for search engines.

So many businesses invest in new websites that look great, but they have not been optimised for search engines.

How to know if your website has been optimised?

You can put your domain name into Ubersuggest and find out if you are ranking for keywords. You need to be in position 1, 2 or 3 on a search engine results page (SERP) to get a good flow of traffic.

Ubersuggest

If you are not ranking in the top 3 positions for your keywords and your site has been up for a while, the reality is your website is not optimised. To be honest, most web designers don’t fully optimise websites for SEO. They simply do some basics like include some keywords in your headings, optimise your website for mobile and make sure your site is search engine friendly (which doesn’t mean much!). The world of SEO is quite competitive as we all want FREE traffic. Therefore, you need to make sure that when your website is built it is FULLY optimised, and then you can consistently work at producing content that keeps you in a top 3 position.

Step 3 – Have a plan in place to:

Create Awareness of your Business:

Search Engine Optimisation, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Social Media Marketing, Content Marketing (Blogging, YouTube videos).

Increase Conversions:

Re-targeting Ads, Email Marketing, Google reviews, FAQs, streamlined online booking/sales process.

Australian internet usage is consistently growing and if you want your business to GROW, you need to make sure your business is seen where your customers are looking.
